💡 How to read this outlook

This outlook is based on an ensemble of 51 scenarios from a major international seasonal model, recalculated several times a day for Belgium. We compare the average of these scenarios with Belgian normals: the difference shown tells you whether the coming months lean towards milder, cooler, drier or wetter.

Confidence measures how far the scenarios agree: when they all tell the same story, it is good; when they contradict each other, it is low. Beyond one month, a seasonal outlook remains a general indication: it will never tell you the weather on a specific day, and surprises are still possible.

The seasonal outlook, explained simply

Will the winter be mild? Will the summer be dry? This page tracks, month by month and season by season, which way the coming months are leaning in Belgium: expected average temperatures compared with normals, expected rainfall compared with usual totals, and a confidence index that tells you how closely the scenarios agree.

Unlike a 7-day or 14-day forecast, a seasonal outlook does not describe the weather on a given day: it gives the general character of a month or a season. It is a valuable tool for planning ahead (garden, energy, activities), as long as you read it for what it is: a probabilistic indication, honest about its limits, never a certainty.
