Weather for Sunday 1 November 2026
Forecast for all of Belgium · published Saturday 31 October evening

For All Saints' Day, this Sunday 1 November, Belgium will remain under thick low cloud, but dry. The morning will be marked by very dense fog in Flanders, on the coast, in the Brussels region and in western Hainaut, with visibility sometimes below 200 metres. It will be 10 to 11°C in the afternoon, 7 to 8°C in the Ardennes.

⚡ The essentials in 30 seconds:
  • Tonight: 2 to 6°C, 1 to 2°C in the Ardennes; locally some ground frost, and negative temperatures in the hollows of the Ardennes valleys
  • Morning: very dense fog in Flanders, on the coast and in western Hainaut; low cloud and mist elsewhere, a few breaks in the Gaume
  • Afternoon: grey everywhere, a few bright spells in the Gaume, 10 to 11°C
  • Evening: still grey and dry
  • Rain: none
  • Wind: light from the north-east, gusts of 20 to 25 km/h

☁️ Sunday 1 November: an All Saints' Day under a blanket of low cloud

🌙 Tonight: fog sets in

A thick fog spreads over Flanders, the coast, the Brussels region and western Hainaut, often with less than 200 metres of visibility. Walloon Brabant, Flemish Brabant, the Hesbaye, the Campine and Limburg come under low cloud and thick mist, as does the Sambre-Meuse valley late in the night. In the south, skies stay largely clear over the Famenne, the Ardennes and the Gaume, with at most a few fog patches in the valley bottoms. It is 2 to 6°C, 1 to 2°C in the Ardennes, with locally some ground frost and sub-zero temperatures in the hollows of the Ardennes valleys. The weather stays dry.

🌫️ Sunday morning: very dense fog in the north and west

At daybreak the fog remains very dense over Flanders, the coast and western Hainaut, and only lifts late in the morning. Elsewhere, low cloud and mist cover the centre, the Hesbaye, the Campine and the Sambre-Meuse valley, with no real breaks. The Ardennes ridges disappear into the cloud, and only the Gaume sees the sky open up at times.

🚗 Drive with great caution in Flanders, on the coast and in western Hainaut: dipped headlights on (and rear fog light if visibility drops below 100 m), reduced speed and keep a safe distance, especially if you're heading to the cemetery.

☁️ Sunday afternoon: grey everywhere

A thick, uniform layer of low cloud covers the country from the coast to the Ardennes. Only Gaume might see a few bright spells, and very timidly elsewhere for the lucky few. It's 10 to 11°C in the lowlands and 7 to 8°C in the Ardennes. Not a drop of rain.

🌙 Sunday evening: still grey and dry

The cloud ceiling remains low over most regions, and the air is cool and humid. No rain.

💨 The wind

A light north-easterly wind is blowing, with gusts of 20 to 25 km/h.

📅 What's next? A bit of rain on Monday, then cold and sunshine

Monday 2 November: light rain, then colder

Light rain would move across the plain in the morning, from the coast to Limburg via the centre and Hainaut (1 to 2 mm, a bit more on the coast). Sunny spells would return in the afternoon in Flanders, and the air would become noticeably colder. The northerly wind would strengthen, with gusts of 35 to 45 km/h, up to 50 km/h on the coast.

Tuesday 3 November: grey in the north, sunshine in the south

Low cloud would remain stuck in the north and centre, whilst sunshine would return in the south, from Hainaut to Gaume. It would be 6 to 11°C, with a noticeable north-easterly wind.

Wednesday 4 November: sunshine and cold air

The sun would shine a little everywhere, in cold air: 5 to 9°C. The easterly wind would be noticeable, with gusts of 40 to 50 km/h, and ground frost would form at sunrise in the Ardennes, as well as locally in the south. Frosts could then spread to the lowland countryside towards the end of the week.

🕯️ Our tips for All Saints' Day:
  • On your way to the cemetery in the morning, take extreme care in the fog in Flanders, on the coast and in western Hainaut
  • A warm jacket will do, no need for an umbrella
  • If you can, travel towards the end of the morning, once the fog has lifted
  • Monday morning, bring your umbrella from the coast to the centre
🔎 Forecast reliability:

Reliability is very good for Sunday: grey and dry weather is well confirmed, and the dense fog in the north and west is confirmed by overnight measurements. The exact time the fog will lift remains more uncertain. The light rain Monday morning is well confirmed; the intensity of the cold and frosts mid-week remains to be determined.
